Car Baby Booties

A special baby is on the way! The little one will be born in December,  and we are expecting him on the same day in which my best friend (his auntie) was born!

I am really over excited, as I think becoming an auntie is going to chance my best friend's life! :)

So, to give him a nice welcoming to the world, I've made this tiny pair of crochet car baby booties! What do you think?

I thought that making a car appliqué would have been much harder than it turned out...and I was quite happy about it!

I am flirting with ideas of making a small amigurumi to go with the booties....but still need to put together a nice project idea...we'll see!

Baby boy crochet sneakers and football amigurumi toy

Here I am, back on completing the baby projects for the american side of my family!!

After taking care of the baby girl present with baby ballerina and a matching bunny amigurumi I had to think of a cool present idea for the baby boy from the other side of the family...

...I had some tips from my mother-in-law, who told me that the parents of the baby are big football fans and the main color of the college they both went to is maroon...

So I started looking around, until I found this lovely pattern from Cathyren on Esty, which you can find at the following link!

I simply loved it and thought it was perfect for my gift idea!

So I bought some maroon rowan cotton yarn and started following the pattern!

The pattern has an unusual way of working out the booties, but it is very easy to follow and I was quite happy with the results.

If you're thinking of a baby boy present idea, I think this could be a cute set to start from!

Spring Newborn Crochet Baby Ballerina

Happy Sunday!!!

This weekend I've started working on newborn projects....we are going to have 2 new members of the family from my husband side and, as we'll go to the States to visit them this July, I thought I should start working on something handmade to bring along!!

For the lady to be born in July, I have in mind to prepare a small box with a pair of crochet baby ballerina and an amigurumi in matching colors!!

I am using Rowan cotton glace' in beige and yellow (as they told me that yellow is the main decorating color of her room to be)!!

For the baby ballerina pattern...I started with my flower ballerina baby booties one and I have hopefully made some improvements, as well as enjoyed myself using a combination of 2 colors!!

They look quite summer-ish, and probably it's the yellow that helps!!!

The amigurumi in matching colors is work in progress...and I will hopefully be able to share it with you soon!!

Hat & Booties Crochet Set for a baby on the way

My adorable colleague, Danielle, is waiting for her second baby!!!

She has always supported me in my crochet passion, following step by step all the projects I have been working on... therefore, I thought a crochet present for her baby shower was due!

I found this pattern on Knot Your Nanas Crochet blog and I loved the idea of giving her a full set with hat and baby booties.

As many people here in London, Danielle has decided not to know in advance the sex of the baby in order to receive a beautiful surprise directly on the day of birth!  

So.... I decided to use a neutral color ...and I thought beige could do!











I found the pattern great and easy to follow and I would definitely suggest you to try it!
I simply love the ears on top of the hat!!!

Baby booties “converse style”… on their way to Brazil!!

Happy evening everyone!

I am so excited in these days!!!! My Brazilian friend Marcelo and his wife Luisa just had a baby!!!! Welcome to the world Joaquim!!!

Given that  for the moment I still can’t make it to Brazil to hold him and give him a proper welcoming, I thought I could at least send him a little present…and so I did!!

I’ve prepared these baby converse following HandMadeByNatalija's pattern….all crocheted in cotton, worked with two yarns at the same time, in order to give them a thicker and more stable look!!

I had actually seen several patterns of converse on-line…and it’s been quite difficult to choose…but I personally really enjoyed realizing Natalija’s pattern!

They’ll be hopefully on a plane to Brazil soon…. Can’t wait to see them on Joaquim in a few months…

Daisy espadrillas

When I saw this mini-espadrillas pattern from the YarnBlossomBoutique , I found it simply adorable and I thought I absolutely HAD to buy it!!!


As soon as I downloaded the pattern, I put myself at work with hook and cotton  yarns and started my next project for my niece once again!!

I thought I wanted to add something to them...and I found these little daisy buttons at John Lewis shop in London and decided to sew them on both sides...what do you think?

Yes, summer is almost over...but luckily enough my gorgeous niece lives in Italy...so she'll be hopefully able to wear them for maybe another month or so?...mmm...well, assuming that she keeps them on for more than a few minutes...ahhaha..as she doesn't seem to love wearing booties at the moment!

Flower ballerina baby booties

Hello everyone!!

Been away for a few days and couldn't write on the blog...and I was missing it..I guess I am starting to get addicted to it..I've just started it a month ago..but I think I am loving the opportunity of sharing my projects!!!!

So, here I am, back from a very romantic long weekend in Prague..ready to share a new crochet project with you!!!

My mum has recently brought me a big bag with many bits of different yarns she has used in the past for knitting pullover and so on..and thought I would have enjoyed the variety of colors..she was definitely right!!! :)))

Looking into the bag I found a soft yellow yarn..and my mind started working... It's been the first time I didn't completely follow a pattern and let my mind play a bit around it!!

I started from the pattern I had used for my first baby booties..and edited it a bit to come up with these flower ballerina baby booties!!!!

My first ever crochet project... baby booties!

Hello crochet lovers,

Here we go... I have found the courage to draft my first blog post and I am pretty thrilled about it!

I would like to share with you my first ever crochet project.

To get myself started I took an introductory course at Loop shop in London, where I learned all the crochet basics with sc, dc and few other tips, but above all where I understood that I was feeling very happy when dedicating myself to crochet.

Therefore, I bought my first book with crochet patterns, "Cute & Easy Crochet" by Nicki Trench, and it is from there that I got the pattern to make these tiny baby boots for my niece!


At the time I still didn't know the colors of my niece...we were still waiting for her...therefore I thought that being a girl, a bit of pink and purple would have made her look cute and girly!


The pattern was very easy to follow, especially from someone who has just started crocheting and I think it provides a clear picture on how to put together a shoe sole.

I love the idea of even just fasting them off as ballerinas, but for the winter the full version looks warmer.
