Baby owl hat.... matching with the booties

Good evening London!!!

My evening couldn't be happier at the moment!!! My husband is back in town from New York...and for good!!!

Despite this.... between one thing and another, I managed to get myself back in track on my crochet projects!!! I realized I still had quite a bit of the yarns I had used for my my niece's baby booties...so why not make something that could match with them???

My sister loved this pattern from swellamy...and it seemed to be time to DO IT!!!

And....step by step....I think I made it!!! Here it is!!!

A very cute owl hat for a baby girl.....matching the booties with lovely colors and getting her ready to fight the Milan winter :)))

..not so sure how much babies love wearing hats ...but I just couldn't resist to this pattern...I found it pretty amazing!!!

Hope you guys love it too!!!

Night to you all,
Rory

Fingerless gloves...getting ready for autumn

What a Lovely Evening!

Here in London it has been a very beautiful evening...sunny and with mild temperature...the perfect conditions for me to decide to run to a nice cafe close to the park after work and dedicate myself to my blog and crochet...

The project I am sharing with you today is a pair of fingerless gloves....with the pattern coming from The Yarn Blossom Boutique
It is definitely an autumn/winter accessory....but I thought it to be a nice project to start now in order to have it ready for the autumn!!!!

Not having handy the right yarn for the gloves to reach a certain thickness, I decided to try and work over the whole pattern by using a double yarn...

And here you can see the effect achieved!!! ... Hope you like the results of my work!

Wishing you all a lovely evening

Scarves...how beautiful when somehow they recall the eyes of the person wearing them....

Here I am ....back on the blog!!

I thought I wouldn't have been a real crochet lover until I had realized at least one hand-made scarf!!

Therefore, coming to the project I would like to share with yall today....as you could have guessed we're talking about a scarf!! And....as all of my crochet projects realized until now, it was a present! I think it might be that I get additional motivation when crocheting for someone else... knowing that I am giving them something I made with my own hands and all my love makes me really HAPPY!!

I've always found it amazing when a scarf's color somehow recalls a person' eyes...as it makes them shine even more!! Thus, when picking the color for my sweet mother-in-law present, I thought it had to be blue like her eyes....

The pattern used was sourced from my first crochet book "Cute & Easy Crochet" by Nicki Trench, from which I had sourced the baby booties pattern. The difficulty level of this swishy scarf is "improver", the same as for the booties. However, as the pattern is in a way repeated along the whole length of the scarf, I personally found it slightly easier to realize.

I hope you like it and I wish you a happy and creative afternoon!

A laid back crochet hat...

Here I am...finally back on my blog...

The project I would like to share with you today is a crochet hat...I made it as a present for my husband earlier this winter.

At the time he was living in New York while I was living in London...so I thought it to be a sweet idea to give him a handmade present that would accompany him during the cold winter time!!!

The pattern I used has been designed by swellamy...and you can find it here

As suggested in the pattern, I worked on two yarns at the same time...and this gave it a thicker and warmer look!

The style of this hat was pretty laid back...and I believe it must have been the key to make my husband wear it quite often....

I would say he is a bit picky when it comes to clothes and accessories to wear .... That's why it made me so happy to see that he did like and wear it a lot!!

Hope you like it too as I think it could be a nice and easy to make present for the winter coming!

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday

My first ever crochet project... baby booties!

Hello crochet lovers,

Here we go... I have found the courage to draft my first blog post and I am pretty thrilled about it!

I would like to share with you my first ever crochet project.

To get myself started I took an introductory course at Loop shop in London, where I learned all the crochet basics with sc, dc and few other tips, but above all where I understood that I was feeling very happy when dedicating myself to crochet.

Therefore, I bought my first book with crochet patterns, "Cute & Easy Crochet" by Nicki Trench, and it is from there that I got the pattern to make these tiny baby boots for my niece!

At the time I still didn't know the colors of my niece...we were still waiting for her...therefore I thought that being a girl, a bit of pink and purple would have made her look cute and girly!

The pattern was very easy to follow, especially from someone who has just started crocheting and I think it provides a clear picture on how to put together a shoe sole.

I love the idea of even just fasting them off as ballerinas, but for the winter the full version looks warmer.

Hope you like them and have a lovely rest of your day!
